An atomically-architectured material is one in which its atoms have been re-arranged during its manufacturing process, to create an entirely different crystal structure from its common form.
The colour of diamond crystals is modified by adding traces of impurities. Jewellers use other metals, to alter the colour of metals like regular gold. However, in the case of Atomically-Architectured Aurum, the scenario is one purely driven by modifications in crystal structure, without alloying.
The world of atomically-architectured materials, is one purely inspired by nature. Just as carbon can be diamond or graphite, identically in composition but markedly distinct in appearance, texture and performance, the same applies to other materials.
NSOYANI Atomically-Architectured Aurum is is offered as a dry nanopowder to enable various colour shades and multi-faceted jewellery designs as follows:
I. NANO-PLATING:
This technique involves coating jewellery with a thin layer of densely-packed particles in our nanopowder, offering superior protection against wear and corrosion. As such, it extends the lifespan of the jewellery.
II. UNIQUE NANO-COATINGS:
Thin layers of our gold nanopowder can be used to coat jewels with the different shades of aurum, in a more sophisticated manner than alloying.
III. 3D-PRINTING & COLD SINTERING:
3D printing allows for the creation of intricate and personalized jewelry designs with reduced material waste, promoting sustainability. As the nanoparticle size of Aurum nanopowders gets smaller, so does the melting point.
This enables their processing by either cold sintering on exisiting surfaces to retain its unique crystal structure and characteristics or 3D-printed for sophisticated designs. Both approaches require superfine nanopowders, to achieve densified, robust and complex features.
IV. LIGHTWEIGHT GOLD:
By 3D-printing or embedding of our nanopowders into a polymer matrix, this can make gold jewellery lighter and more comfortable to wear.
V. OPTICAL EFFECTS & COLOUR:
Nano-Gold creates a range of unusual colours suitable for fine jewellery and luxurious coatings with unique optical effects such as iridescent colours or shimmering surfaces.
